Construction Codes & Licensing

The Town of Youngtown has adopted the following internationally standardized building codes:

  • 2013 AZBO / Maricopa Association of Governments Amendments
  • 2018 International Building Code - Commercial (IBC)
  • 2018 International Existing Building Codes IBEC)
  • 2018 International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC)
  • 2018 International Mechanical Code (IMC)
  • 2018 International Plumbing Code (IPC)
  • 2012 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC)
  • 2018 International Residential Code (IRC)
  • 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • 2018 International Fire Codes (IFC)
  • 2014 Youngtown Amendments

For purposes of redevelopment, the existing Building Code is currently being adopted along with an expanded Redevelopment Plan in order to simplify the reconstruction of our valuable older commercial facilities

All contractors and sub-contractors operating in Youngtown must hold a valid license with the Registrar of Contractors for the State of Arizona. In addition, they are required to have a Town of Youngtown Business License in order to perform work within the Town's limits.
